Measuring your Canopy
This guide will show you how to take accurate measurements of your canopy and cushion.
1. The first step is to remove the canopy from the frame of the swing. Often canopies are attached by velcro or by means of sleeves that slide onto the canopy frame with. Because there are many different types of patio swing frames, the steps on removing the canopy may differ.
2. Once the canopy is removed from the swing frame, it is time to take your measurements. Using a tape measure, measure from outside of the canopy frame to the opposite end.
Collect the width measurements as well as the length measurements.
* Some canopy frames may have an arch or rise in middle, so be sure to collect your overall width measurements from this point.
*Tip - When taking measurements, try to imagine the new cushion sitting on the frame. This often helps when arm rests, back bars, seat bars and other areas are considered.
1. Remove the cushion from the frame of the swing frame. Because there are many different types of cushions and swings on the market, the steps involved may differ.
2. After the old cushion is removed, take out your tape measure and collect the following information.
* Back Measurement - This measurement is from the top of the back and down to where the crease of the seat begins. If you are sitting on the cushion the area would be considered from your shoulder blades down to your tail bone.
* Seat Measurement - Get this measurement from where the back ends and where the seat ends. If you are sitting on the cushion the area would be considered from your tail bone and down to the back of your knees.
* Overall Width - The entire width from left to right is considered the width of the cushion. If you are sitting on the cushion the area would be considered going left to right across your lap
* There is no need to measure for thickness of the cushion. We offer a standard 3 inch thickness on our replacement cushions.
Measuring for your Canopy
It is important to collect the outside measurements as your new canopy from us will simply slip down and over the frame. Ties will be provided on the underside of the canopy for securing.1. Measuring for your Cushion
It is suggested that you take measurements of the swing frame other than the old cushion. The reason for this is that older cushions have a tendency to spread out over time and use. This may provide inaccurate measurements. Please be advised that the instructions are for cushions that are separate from the frame of the swing. Some swing models have a sling of material that includes the cushion that may not be replaceable. We can only provide replacement cushions and not that of other materials.*Tip - When taking measurements, try to imagine the new cushion sitting on the frame.
